Ela Alegre
DJ Vocalist
One of Hong Kong’s most versatile and dynamic vocalist, Ela Alegre is high in demand for her ability to command the stage. Whether it be Jazz, R&B, Soul, Pop, Latin, Fusion or Dance, Ela delivers an emotionally intense and powerful performance.
Ela has been active in the recording studio working on various TV and Internet commercials, radio jingles as well as Movie Soundtracks. Ela was a featured artist in the Beatles vocal jazz arranged album, “Liverpool Stories”. After which, her bluesy arrangement of ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ was chosen to be included in the Sevva Sounds Compilation CD. Other notable projects have been working with The City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, The Island Express Big Band as well as Stylus.
Aside from live performance, Ela's passion is programming music & recording for the group VoSSa, reinventing classic songs and melodies while crossing over and fusing genres. Ela wrote 6 original tracks and programmed 4 re-mixed classics for VoSSa’s debut album, “Soulfully Jazztified’ Ranging from Big Band Swing, Latin or just creating a funky new groove, Ela is developing a style which is uniquely her own.
